5 Home remedies for Dry Cough: It is not good to cough always, that too in office or in public places. People tend to look at you in a different manner. There are 2 types of cough – one due to phlegm or mucous and another is dry cough. We will see the remedies for the dry cough now. Dry cough is caused mainly due to allergies, dry air, if you were in a dusty environment for a long time etc.
1. Gargle with Salt Water

The first and foremost is to gargle with salt water. Take a cup of hot water (not too hot, you should able to gargle using the water) and mix 1 tsp of salt. While gargling, you should feel that, the water touches your inner throat. But do not swallow the water in any case. This gargling, removes the itchiness and irritation that occurs in the throat.
2. Turmeric

Add turmeric 1/2 tsp of turmeric to 2 cups of water, add 1 tbsp of good quality honey. Boil the water. When the water, reduces to 1.5 cups, strain the water and drink it.

3. Goodness of Ginger

This method, I feel is most effective for me. Take 1 inch fresh ginger. Chop into fine pieces or even crush them nicely. Take 2 cups of water and add the ginger and start boiling it. Add the 1 tsp jiggery to this. Let the water reduce to 1 cup. Strain the water and drink when hot.
4. Black pepper

Black pepper is one of the most useful spice to treat the cough. Most of the Indians know the medical use of black pepper, I suppose. Take 1 tsp of freshly crushed black pepper and 1 tbsp honey and 3 cups water. Boil for 10 min. Slightly cool them down and drink it. Repeat this for 2 to 3 days.
