While shopping we mostly ignore seeing the ingredients list. If we see also, we will not understand the actual meaning of the terms mentioned in the list like E102, E107 etc.,. So we see the expiry date and if we like the product we buy it.
But the ingredients list is more important to check as some ingredients mentioned in label are bad to our health and we consume it without knowing what harm it brings to our body.
Avoid buying, if your ingredient list contains the below things:
E621
This is popularly known as MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate ). In India popularly called as Ajinomoto, is a flavor enhancing agent used by food industry for producing instant soups, taste maker in noodles etc.,. Although it doesn’t have any proven impact on health, yet there are signs that cause symptoms such as headache, nausea etc. In internet you can see various views on MSG.
E951
These are artificial sweeteners which provides intense sweetness to the product they are mixed but of 0 energy value. People who suffer from diabetes and people on diet ow weight watchers should definitely avoid this else it gives a negative effect to their health.
Trans-fatty acids
These are produced by partial hydrogenation of the vegetable oils and are nothing but fatty acids which raises the bad cholesterol level. These become the main cause for the obesity and increases the chances of heart diseases. Try to buy product which mentions trans-fat free.
Nitrites and Nitrates
These are used as preservatives in the production of meat and certain fish products and cheese. Their adverse effect is, they prevent the normal oxygen delivery in the blood. They are dangerous to the children and the old age people.
E102 and E123a
These are nothing but the different artificial colors added to the food products to give attractive colors. These also give diverse effects on the health and is even banned in certain countries. These are dangerous for children especially. Instead try to choose the product containing natural color givers like E160c (pepper extract) and E100 (turmeric extract).
Hope next time when you buy a product, would search for these ingredients in the label and then buy it.
